Local Delivery
Can’t make it to The Pup? No worries! The Hungry Puppy offers you the convenience of our FREE home or office delivery service!
We will deliver any product we sell right to your door at no additional cost, besides the fuel surcharge.
Our delivery service is year round, tuesday through friday. We deliver most anywhere in Monmouth County and some parts of Ocean County and Middlesex County. We'll even deliver to the local animal shelters on your behalf. Please keep in mind minimums do apply. We can also put you on an automatic delivery schedule if you prefer. All we need is a credit card and how often you'd like your delivery. This way, you'll never run out of your pet's food again!Obedience Training
Got a new puppy or just adopted an older dog? Perhaps your dog is a little rough around the edges. The Hungry Puppy’s Obedience Training is for you!Three different classes are available:
Puppy Kindergarten
Puppies don't teach themselves how to be well mannered. Fortunately, The Hungry Puppy can help you get off on the right foot. A 4 week course that encompasses all that you need to raise your puppy. Each 1 1/2 hour session, we'll train YOU how to train your new addition. This class is great for people who have never before had a dog or just need a refresher course. Kindergarten is the perfect solution to help make your adjustment with your new family member a pleasant one. For puppies 10 weeks through 6 months of age.
Basic Training
An 8 week, 1 hour course that teaches YOU how to teach your dog basic obedience commands. By using positive reinforcement with praise or treats and using your dog's natural instincts, you'll learn how to correctly and effectively train your dog. Some of the commands taught are: sit, down, heel, stay, come, stand, drop it and leave it. Behavioral problems, such as chewing, biting, jumping, barking are also addressed. Distractions and meeting strangers are also all part of the learning process that we encompass into our lessons.
This 8 week class is opened for 12 to 15 dogs. For puppies and adult dogs over 6 months of age.
Intermediate Training
For all dogs that have successfully completed the basics of training.
This fun-filled 8 week course expands on the lessons learned in Basic Training. Each 1 hour training class, encourages you to work the skills of basic training while lengthening your "stay time" and refining your heeling techniques. Some dogs can start to work off leash.
Intermediate also teaches you how to cope in all sorts of social situations with you dogs. Working with distractions is an important part of teaching your dog to be a well-mannered companion while in public.
15 dogs are enrolled per class.
The Hungry Puppy also offers Private Lessons.
1 hour private lessons are with our behavioral specialist. These lessons are great for people who can not make an 8 week program or need to work on particular commands/behavioral problems. Aggression in dogs is one of the aspects of taking advantage of our Private Lessons, so you may learn to obtain control of your dog in a social environment. We can go as fast or as slow as you need. Clients who do these private lessons may only need 1 or a few lessons to achieve the desired results. Many go onto the group class to strengthen the commands.
